England 2012 - the plan?

In light of recent events everyone appears to having knee-jerk ractions callings for the heads England management / backroom staff / senior players / the FA and pretty much anyone involved. Most of this is over-reaction (alough my earlier comments on Fabio still stand). Therefore I have an idea for 2012!
In 2012 we have a summer of fun, Euro 2012 and the Olympics. Therefore why not use this as an opportunity to be all conquering. In the Olympics there is an age limit (i think 23) plus you're allowed 3 overage players. So why not use this as an opportunity to rebuild the squad and put together a team that are all reaching their peak come 2014 in Brazil.
I propose thatEngland should include in all squads between now and Euro 2012 at least 12 player who will be eligible (i.e. under 23) come the olympics. That should leave plenty of room for a few well known faces to drag us through qualifying whilst preparing players such as Willshire / A Johnson / Theo etc.. for a real challenge at these uppcoming tournaments. It might not be enough to win the Euros but how good would the support for those players be if they maaged to win the Olympics on home soil.
I'm not saying axe Rooney, Gerrard etc.. Just don't waste time on the fringe older players, Upson / Carragher / Heskey. Decent players but with little to offer England now.
That said I appreciate hat this is just a pipe dream. The reality is we'll learn no lessons, we'll take an ageing squad to Euro 2012, underperform and have no real plans for 2014. Plus come the Olympics the Premership team will lean on our star players to magic up groin strains etc.. that miraculously clear up by the end of August when the league starts, ths ruining the Olypic dream for the entire nation.
