22nd October 2005
- Allstars lose keeper
An hour before kick-off for the Allstars big cup game against
Bolton County , keeper Struan sent a text message to Gaz saying
he is unavailable for selection. The Allstars were a little worried
with it being a cup match, but Chris volunteered to go in net
for the game and the Allstars ended up winning comfortably. However,
nothing could have prepared the Allstars for the news they were
to get on Tuesday three days later - Struan sent another text,
this time to Pete saying he has signed for another team! The Allstars
are now facing a crisis, no keeper and not much sign of a replacement.
Once again reliable Chris has volunteered to play in between the
sticks on an as needed basis; however the Allstars are now in
the process of searching for a more permanent solution.

15th October 2005
- Russ Sees Red
In a tough and temperamental game against undefeated ALMA FC, a
hand bags at ten paces confrontation between Russ and his opposing
winger saw the two seeing red. This was only the second red card
of the Allstars history and may affect the Allstars chances of winning
the sportsmen of the year award they have succesfully defended since
the club first set up five years ago! |

11th October 2005
- New Stadium
After four years of playing on the hallowed turf of Astley Park
the International Allstars have invested in a new stadium. The new
pitch is in Whittle-Le-Woods, on the left hand side of Ken Mill
Lane .
The Allstars are hoping to build an impenetrable fortress
at their new ground and manager Pete Sawyer said, “We are all
excited about this new ground, and we hope to play stylish and attractive
football fitting of such a quality venue” |
1st September 2005 - New Signings
The Allstars have been busy in
the transfer market this season, selling one player and buying
five! The end of the 2004/05 season saw the loss of the talented
midfielder Dawg. However, this blow was lessened through the signings
of some inspirational talent. One of the biggest stories this
summer was the Allstars re-signing Andy Watson, the phenomenal
midfielder/ winger. Andy played for the Allstars in the 2002/03
season and added real quality to the team with his intelligent
play and simple passing, however he was forced to move to Nottingham
before the beginning of the 2003/04 season and hence left the
Allstars. The Allstars are now glad to have re-signed Andy for
the coming season.
The other signings include the
tricky, quick-footed winger Louis, the two giants "Big Dave"
and Kev (centre forward and midfielder respectively), and Nick
the sturdy defender.
